Construction

Lum-Tec forges the 316L case instead of casting it. According to Lum-Tec, this realigns the grain of the steel, adds roughly 37% fatigue strength over a typical cast case and removes the porosity that limits fine finishing. A heat treatment then stabilizes and hardens the metal. After hand brushing and polishing, a vapor-deposited anti-fingerprint layer helps keep the case free of smudges.

The sapphire sits on a Hytrel mount. Silicone-lubricated double Viton seals protect both the crown and the threaded caseback, and Lum-Tec states that it tests the sealing to 30% beyond the 100 m rating. The movement rides in an anti-shock mount, so it is protected against knocks and drops.

The Bracelet

The bracelet is what makes the Eclipse. It narrows quickly from 26 mm at the case to 18 mm at a low-profile butterfly clasp. Its pivots are set just 2 mm apart, so the links follow the wrist closely. The chamfered, polished link edges catch the light against the flat brushed faces, and the bracelet is designed to be resized easily.

MDV® Lume

The 3D index sits on an angled stadium ring. Each marker carries many layers of top-grade Super-Luminova over a reflective, chemically coated base, which pushes the light forward instead of letting it soak into the dial. Lum-Tec says independent testing by RcTritec in Switzerland verified its dials as top performers for Super-Luminova.
